Best Ecommerce Platform

Shopify is the best ecommerce platform in my opinion, It’s particularly user friendly for beginners, enabling them to set up an online store within a week. Many DTC brands use Shopify to establish their official online store, I will explain why based on three key aspects: Ease of use, Scalability, and Reliability.

1.Ease of use

Shopify.com is specifically designed for ecommerce, with all features built around online store. Unlike platforms like Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress (WooCommerce), which are built mainly for content sites, these platforms will lack some of the features for ecommerce.

For example, adding a product in WooCommerce uses the same interface as adding a WordPress post, which feels very awkward. On the contrary, Shopify is incredibly easy to use.

If you need to set up order tracking, multiple product options and shipping methods in WooCommerce, you’ll need to use plugin to accomplish them. However, in Shopify, it can be set up very easily.

In summary, Woocommerce requires numerous plugins to implement basic e-commerce functionality, whereas Shopify includes these features out of the box.

2.Scalability

When designing an online store, there are various feature requests, such as website builder, data analytics, integration with affiliate network, influencer platform, advertising platform, logistics, ERP system, bookkeeping software, payment gateway, customer support software, and more.

Shopify’s official app store offers thousands of applications to meet all ecommerce needs, a capability unmatched by other ecommerce platforms.

For example, Impact.com is a highly popular affiliate network hosting nearly 8,000 advertisers, but it has discontinued the plugin for BigCommerce. On other ecommerce platforms, you can only manually install the tracking code of Impact. However, Impact continuously maintains its plugin on Shopify, making it easy to deploy.

3.Reliability

Shopify is a fully hosted solution that ensures the security of the online store. If you build your store using open-source ecommerce platform, encountering a DDoS attack could render your website inaccessible. After a few days, all your Google SEO rankings will disappear.

If entire website is infected with malware, it becomes extremely difficult to clean up. Hackers will redirect the website’s traffic to other illicit sites.
